Their backgrounds in interior design and architecture, combined with a love for Colorado’s rugged, natural beauty, have created an inviting space that embodies the essence of farmhouse chic. for a winemaker's life on Colorado's Western Slope.
Edwin has a masterful architect mind. He's as inspired by the silhouette of a Ducati motorcycle as he is by modernist structures. Born and raised in South Africa. Spent many years traveling abroad and eventually found his way to Colorado.
They both share a servant's heart; for Shari and Edwin, joy comes from welcoming and entertaining new friends.
Shari and Edwin dreamt for decades of creating a space for people to gather and relax in a rugged and beautiful landscape.
Shari grew up in a world of rich contrasts. As a child, her Barbie Dream house became a canvas for exploring design and hospitality, with tree swings built from gold chains, and miniature furniture crafted from discarded compacts and hairspray can tops. Her imagined guests were both rugged and refined - free to wear denim or frills (often at the same time).
Shari's a farm girl, but she's no stranger to lipstick and high heels. She moved from Colorado to New York and Paris before returning to her Western roots, where her path intersected with Edwin's. Together, they've created a space for people to drink wine and luxuriate amid the backdrop of Colorado's natural landscape.
TWP's South African-inspired farmhouse (plaashuis) is a study of contrasts. It's inspired by the personal histories and passions of its owners.
We can't wait to share our dream with you.

what our guests are saying
Hear from our guests who have experienced the enchanting stay at TWP PLAASHUIS:
“This place was a dream come true! We stayed at the house and all I can say is WOW! They have amazing wine, a hot tub, pickleball, paddleboards, tire swing, peacocks, and goats! We stayed here for my bachelorette party and the hosts were 10/10 with their hospitality. I can't say enough great things about this
property and hosts!” - Rachel Bartleson.
“Absolutely the best Colorado getaway—so much to offer. Rent the guesthouse for the whole experience 🥂 Magical! ❤️” - Ann Kellogg-Pintar.
“We can't thank you enough for the time we had at TWP. We can't wait to come back and create more incredible memories.”
"The food...I am a cook that believes "layers of flavor" is everything. Like pasta with savory sausage (we all liked it in the dish) just enough sauce, fresh crisp peas and perfect asparagus. The salad was probably the best I have ever had...loved the olives, etc. All your salads have been perfect. Food, drinks, appetizers and décor/flowers on par with the Broadmoor."
"...here we are in this incredible home with wonderful hosts (truly great people) and amazing food."
"I just want you both to know how you have touched our souls and how much we appreciate and will forever cherish this sanctuary."
